British Arts Medal
2018 British Arts Medal, 'Hands Across The Divide', was inspired by a statue in my hometown of Derry, Northern Ireland.
The statue is of two men, both with arms stretched out towards one another, hands nearly touching, but not quite. Yet it is in this gesture of almost shaking hands, each man is acknowledging the others humanity.
2019 British Arts Medal, 'Plod On', was inspired by the motion to continue on no matter what may be in the way.
This is shown as on the front of the medal features a pair of wellies boots walking through a cow pat. Whilst on the back ,is the country side (the view from my home in N.Ireland).
